Valeria Hayes has been with the agency since June 1998. She served as the Fiscal Manager until January 2014, at which time she became the Executive Director. She has a Bachelor of General Studies Degree with an Emphasis in Business from Western Kentucky University.
Valeria firmly believes that our Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide long term benefits to children and families. Head Start assures children possess the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary for success in school and for later learning in life. The benefits include increased achievement test scores, higher graduation rates, reduced rates of grade repetition, lower need for special education, improved health benefits, reduced crime rates and an economic impact of $7 to $1.
Valeria is dedicated to serving children and families in both Breckinridge and Grayson Counties. She firmly believes we can make our communities an even better place to live and work by providing our youngest citizens with a quality early childhood experience in a nurturing environment.
